Writing Year in Review

Another New Year is upon us! In preparation for this coming year, I took a look at my writing goals from this past year which you can find in this post. I didn’t do as well as I hoped with my writing goals this past year, because of travel, unexpected work changes and schedules and everyday life! (Isn’t that the way it always seems to go? 🙂 )

I did manage to read the same amount of books as last year, (Maybe 45 is just my number!), delve into some more creative projects and return to some old ones and keep writing here on the blog!

I didn’t manage to do hardly any writing on any of my novels or my children’s series. And you know what, I am totally okay with that! 🙂 This past year did not turn out to be a writing year for me. But it was a year for me to explore, travel and learn! And I hope my writing will reflect that.

I did find that writing here on the blog seems to take time away from my writing time, so I will warn you now that I may try to cut back a little on posting especially come summer as I do intend to buckle down and finish that rough draft of my novel this year! Though, I do have a much better working schedule now that gives me some more flexibility, so we will see! Maybe it will all even out. 🙂

Here’s to an amazing New Year!

  1. Congratulations on recognizing what you did this year (even though it wasn’t writing) and being okay with that! Personally, I think taking a break and expanding as a person always helps a writer, as it gives you more human understanding and experiences to use in your writing, even on a subconscious level.
