I have been putting off this first post, because, even though I am a writer, starting something new always feels like a ball of emotions. Exciting, interesting and okay, awkward.
A new blog, a new book, a new post, a new challenge, a new endeavor, a new journey.
But I know that taking that first step is always the hardest. And that goes for anything! Trying anything new takes courage and the willingness to fall flat on our face and get back up with a smile. To learn from our mistakes.
But, you know what? Anything new gets easier the more you do it. Pretty soon it isn’t new anymore, but old and familiar. Then we go and start to look for the next new adventure.
Because, that is what makes us human. The desire to reach higher, touch others,
open ourselves and learn.
(I am not always this philosophical. I promise.) 🙂
Let’s just say, I am going to have to find my blogger voice here. I have a writer’s voice when I write, but writing on a blog isn’t quite the same. I hope I can be my authentic, dreamer, enthusiastic, crazy-curly haired self on here.
I am so excited to get started too! I have so many things to share about all that inspires me like history (I am a huge history buff! You are warned!), baking, nature, books, writing and so many other things. Inspiration can come from anywhere and I look forward to sharing with you what inspires me and keeps me writing!
And I look forward to “meeting” all of you out there too! I hope we can share a little bit of our lives with each other.
“The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say” – J.R.R. Tolkien
And so to begin…
You’re so right about it being difficult to find your blogging voice as opposed to your writing voice. Not to mention blogging is very much “trial and error.” You learn what works and what doesn’t as you go along, and that’s OK – even encouraged. (I think I’m still learning, 7 years later.) I look forward to reading what you have to share with us in the future, Candace, and thanks again for your recent comment at my blog. 🙂

Hi Sara! Thank you for the comment! Yes, I am looking forward to this journey of blogging and learning how to stretch my writing in a different direction. And thank you back for the friend request on Goodreads! 🙂
